Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the common questions that we have been asked.

1. Do you have to be an artist to sign up for an account?

Not at all! Wishek Enterprises has webhosting for any legitimate, legal website; personal or business.

2. Do you offer the option of shopping carts? What about Websites?

Yes. Give us the details of your business and we can help choose a shopping cart that's right for you. Websites? Of course! We have options from automated websites, to high-end business sites, to artistic visions complete with Flash elements. Tell us what you want, we can do it for you.

3. What is the difference between POP3 and IMAP?

You may use either POP3 or IMAP protocols to access your email.

When using the POP3 protocol, your email is downloaded from the email server and stored locally on your machine. Once the email is downloaded, it is removed from the server and can only be viewed on your computer.

When using the IMAP protocal, your email is downloaded from the email server, but it is NOT removed from the server. This allows you to view your email from work or home using your standard email client such as Outlook. However, if you are not using your regular computer, you can still access your emails via [[http://webmail.wishek.com][Webmail] in a browser.

The main difference from the user's perspective is that IMAP stores emails on the mail server while POP3 stores emails on the user's computer. The advantage of POP3 is that the user's disk space quota is not consumed by email once it has been downloaded. The advantage of IMAP is that the user's email is available via [[http://webmail.wishek.com][Webmail] from any machine connected to the internet. Note, even when using the POP3 protocol, undownloaded emails are available via [[http://webmail.wishek.com][Webmail] until they have been downloaded to the user's computer.

4. What are the mail server names and ports?

1. Incoming POP3 server: mail.wishek.com port 110
2. Outgoing SMTP server: smtp.wishek.com port 25
- Alternate SMTP port if your ISP is blocking port 25 outbound: 2525
